South Texas Duck Hunting with South Bay Hunting Club

Our private Duck Hunting cap is located in between Aransas Pass and Port Aransas with 1600 feet of beachfront.

Our family has 4 airboats and we brush and decoy out 35-40 blinds.

On weekends you can expect to enjoy BBQ, a game of washers, stories and comaraderie.

The birds are abundant and the limits generous.  At South Bay Hunting Club, while we prefer to let the birds rest in the afternoon, we occasionally provide 2 duck hunting / waterfowl hunts a day.  You can expect a mixed bag of waterfowl with a variety of ducks.

You should be prepared to shoot redhead ducks, pintails and widgeons while duck hunting with us. These are the Triple Crown among more than 10 species of ducks which frequently winter here.  Other birds that are plentiful are buffleheads, scaup, teal and gadwall.

At South Bay Hunting Club we don’t take you duck hunting in a designated blind that gets hunted week in week out, day in day out.  Our duck guides find the best spots holding the most birds and that’s where you go duck hunting! What is your preference?  Is it Pintails and Widgeon dive bombing the marsh?  Or swarms of Redheads? Whatever your preference, we can tailor your duck hunting adventure.

South Texas Duck Hunting Conditions!

Being in the Central Flyway we seem to have a constant influx and out flux of ducks.  This provides fantastic duck hunting since fresh birds are constantly arriving.

Texas offers some of the finest waterfowl hunting in the United States with well over 1 million ducks each winter. So if you are looking for that lifetime trophy redhead, pintail, widgeon or cinnamon teal we look forward to guiding you on that memorable hunt soon!

There are 10 different species of ducks that frequent our hunting region making for perfect South Texas duck hunting conditions.

Hundreds of thousands of ducks call this their winter home. Hunters can expect to see 10-50 thousand ducks per hunt and will see 5 to 10 different species per day out of our comfortable fully decoyed and brushed blinds.

This region of TX, where extensive farmland meets the coastal bays and marshes of the Gulf Coast, forms a waterfowl Mecca. The numbers and variety of ducks and waterfowl in this region make it truly special. The beautiful prime plumage of these birds makes it especially attractive to the trophy collector.

At South Bay Hunting Club we offer morning waterfowl hunts to let the birds rest.  You can expect a mixed bag of waterfowl with a variety of ducks.

Our “Cast & Blast” package includes morning wing shooting for ducks immediately followed by wade fishing redfish or returning to complete your limit with an afternoon of hunting.

Reservations – all duck hunts must be booked in advance

Deposit – a fifty percent (50%) deposit is required in order to confirm dates. Balance of payment is due day of trip

Cancellations – Deposit will be returned when inclement weather does not allow a departure from the beach. (Captain’s call)

Duck Hunting Rates

South Texas Duck Hunting – Non-Guided Duck Hunts – $125 per person (2 person minimum)

Guided Duck Hunt – $125 per person* plus guide fees** of $75 for 2 people & $100 for 3 people.

*2 person minimum

**Guides must be reserved in advance

Dogs are welcome at no extra charge

Corporate and Large Groups Welcome!

Duck Hunting parties of two or more will have private blind.

Morning duck hunts are from 30 minutes before sunrise until approximately 10:00 am.
